Black Ops 4 Dark Matter Boosting Changes

What Changed to Dark Matter Boosting?

First, we will be talking about the old system and how the new changes impacted the progression path for the elusive dark matter camo.
To change the color of your weapon you had to get killstreaks up to 30 without dying, to unlock the nuclear level of your dark matter, the majority of casual players found this exceptionally hard to achieve. With the recent negative feedback, Treyarch decided to set the kill requirement to 30 kills in a game with Dark Matter camo active at the time; dying makes no difference.

How do the changes impact "Gemmed Out" Calling Card

Gemmed out was probably the hardest Dark Ops challenge to achieve, it was required to earn a nuclear medal with every single primary weapon to successfully complete it. This meant getting 30 kills with no deaths with all primary weapons, the majority of players would never even dream of being able to complete this challenge, but with the recent update, everything became easier!
The changes simplified the process of acquiring Gemmed Out, the new requirements is to only get 30 kills, with all primary weapons with dark matter camo equipped. The challenging part of this Calling Card was getting the 30 kills in a streak without dying, now it is much more feasible and realistic to earn Gemmed out!
